BMHHFA put in a superb first half performance against Hua Hin Junior this afternoon with every single player following the pre-match instructions to the letter. Centre half Sam (pictured) marshaled the defence superbly and won tackle after tackle while Alex pulled the strings in midfield and Nick worked tirelessly alongside him.
Goalkeeper Gan pulled off a couple of stunning saves but with William and Arwin (below) causing havoc down the flanks a BMHHFA opener was always on the cards. It arrived courtesy of Sam who popped up in the penalty area and showed real composure to side foot the ball past the goalkeeper.
Danny was solid at the back and Hua Hin Junior’s attacks were repeatedly repelled by him and Sam who won several challenges. The ability of Alex (below) to collect the ball and drift pass opponents was also a feature of the half, while William ran at the full back relentlessly.
At half time BMHHFA took both defenders off and went on to change every single outfield player. It meant the team lost momentum and Hua Hin Junior capitalized, scoring four goals against the makeshift defence.
Overall this was a really positive performance, with the team playing brilliantly in the opening period and centre half Sam leading by example. It was a shame that the momentum was lost after the substitutions, but the players showed real improvement in the opening period and this was a very encouraging match.
