The Black Mountain Under 13s were in action last weekend at the Orchid Palm Homes Cup IX tournament. The event was arranged and organized by Black Mountain and took place at the Hua Hin International School.
Despite not having played many matches together the players were able to put the things they had learned from coach Gary Stevens into practise and made a strong start, winning two and drawing one of the first three games.
It left them needing a victory in the final game to secure top spot and win the trophy. Unfortunately the previous games had taken their toll and the players simply ran out of steam on a very hot day, slipping to a defeat that consigned them to second place.
