Black Mountain Golf Club is an exclusive golf community ten kilometres west of the quaint city of Hua Hin, Thailand.
It is the result of Swedish entrepreneur Stig Notlöv’s unrelenting golf dream, and opened in April 20, 2007. Numerous awards followed rapidly, and just five years after the first rounds were played, Black Mountain became the first course in Thailand to be included in US Golf Digest’s list of the Best 100 Courses Outside the United States.
Today, Black Mountain Golf Club is a flourishing community as well as the largest employer of the region. With a popular restaurant, spa, wakeboard park, water park, and numerous recreational activities, it is a desirable travel destination for visitors of every kind.
New luxury course-side properties are constantly being built, and with the latest addition of an international school, Black Mountain Golf Club isn’t just a place for golfing, it is a place for living.
Hua Hin International School
The Hua Hin International School (HHIS) is located at the entrance to Black Mountain Golf Club. It currently has students from 2 years old (EY1) through to 14 years old (Year 9). From August 2018 it will open up to include Year 10 students, who will begin their two year IGCSE studies. Students will then be able to continue with to take the International Baccalaureate Diploma at age 18.
HHIS students enjoy the challenges set by our highly qualified, enthusiastic UK teachers. These challenges bring engagement with learning and enable UK curriculum expectations to be met and exceeded. Another important reason that HHIS is so special is the centrality of our ‘I’ values that are evident through every part of daily life. It is by making these key values explicit that students will become independent, confident lifelong learners.
