BMHHFA Under 11s finish runners up at Hua Hin Kid’s Cup

For the second tournament in a row BMHHFA Under 11s reached the final. Unfortunately the team was once again beaten by SS and had to settle for second spot.

BMHHFA were drawn in Group A for the 2020 Hua Hin Kid’s Cup alongside PSG and Hua Hin Junior. We played the former in the first match and ran out as 6-1 winners with Alex grabbing a hat trick.

Our second game was against PSG, who had yet to play a match and were much fresher. Our opponents took a deserved lead in the second half but a brilliant solo goal from Ford secured the 1-1 draw.

Having won the group we faced Seahorse in the semi finals. Fatigue was clearly an issue for some of the players and it was a match of few chances.

Defender Jayden made a surging run and bundled the ball home to give BMHHFA a late lead. However with seconds remaining goalkeeper William fumbled a cross into his own net to gift Seahorse late equalizer.

He would make amends in style, saving the first penalty of the shoot out. Jayden and Alex smashed their kicks home and Seahorse missed their third as BMHHFA booked their spot in the final.

With 90 minutes of football having already been played on a hot day the players were tiring and SS quickly surged into a 3-0 lead. BMHHFA dominated the second half but couldn’t find a goal and ended up losing 5-0 after conceding two more on the counter attack.

It was a valuable experience for all the players who continue to improve and will only benefit from playing competitive football together.
