BMHHFA draw with Hua Hin City in first ever friendly match

The Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy played a friendly match for the first time ever this morning with the Under 13s claiming a 3-3 draw with Hua Hin City. Playing 6 a side at the Midfield Soccer pitch in Bofai, the home team made a strong start and had the lion’s share of possession.

Hua Hin City’s passing and movement was excellent while BMHHFA looked a little static. It was no surprise when the home team took a deserved 1-0 lead, it would have been more but for some excellent goalkeeping from Wave, the oldest player in the academy.

BMHHFA started to grow into the game and piece together some passing combinations but it was against the run of play that Mean scored. The central midfielder burst forwards on the counter attack and converted confidently with his left foot.

Hua Hin City continued to pass the ball around confidently and took a 2-1 lead after a fumble from Wave fell kindly for the attacker to convert. BMHHFA bounced back with a freak equalizer, a speculative shot from Mean ricocheting off the defender and then spinning over the goalkeeper’s head.

The BMHHFA keeper had been instructed to play out from the back but Hua Hin City closed the defenders down diligently and they pressure paid off when they forced an error to make it 3-2. The game was becoming very stretched with both teams leaving players up front meaning a late goal was always likely.

It duly arrived with just 30 seconds remaining. BMHHFA won the ball deep in their own half and Bor burst forwards leaving the Hua Hin City defenders trailing in his wake. His finish was confident and composed, ensuring that onours were even.

The 3-3 scoreline probably flattered BMHHFA as Hua Hin City dominated possession and showcased some excellent passing and movement. However the performance was very encouraging given that the boys had never played together before and it was an excellent result.
