Free coaching for Karen refugees with Jungle Aid

On May 29th some of the coaches from the Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy will be travelling to Pala U Noi with Jungle Aid to do some football coaching for the children from the stateless, landless Karen community there.

Jungle Aid is a local charity which provides essential support to displaced people in and around Thailand. They send a team of volunteers to Pala U Noi every other month to provide supplies and medical support to the community there.

While the Jungle Aid team is busy doing this essential work, some of the coaches from the Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy will be running a fun, free football session. Pala U Noi is located deep in the jungle, close to the Burmese border and is only accessible with a 4WD vehicle.

The football pitch has been carved out the jungle and doesn’t have much grass on it but the children love to play. There are some very promising youngsters in Pala U Noi and we are hoping to arrange a friendly match against the Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy team in the future.

Donations are always welcome and any parents with unwanted shoes, clothing or any other items which they would like to give the children at Pala U Noi can bring them to the Black Mountain Hua Hin Football Academy any Saturday or Sunday.

This is an ongoing project and this will be the sixth time we have traveled to Pala U Noi with Jungle Aid to do one of these coaching sessions. There are currently four more trips planned between now and the end of the year.

A big thank you to our partners at Black Mountain whose generous support helps make this project possible.
